EFECTO DE DOS SISTEMAS DE COSECHA DE LA CAÑA DE AZÚCAR SOBRE LA CALIDAD DEL SUELO EN EL CANTÓN MILAGROS ECUADOR

Con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto de las tecnologías de cosecha verde y cosecha quemada sobre la calidad del suelo se hizo una investigación en los predios de la Universidad Agraria del Ecuador, Cantón Milagro. Se evaluaron variables químicas, físicas y biológicas para determinar los cambios producidos por la quema sobre el medio edáfico. Se pudo observar que la quema no afecta significativamente la mayoría de las propiedades químicas siendo las más importantes la disminución de K y su bloqueo, además de un detrimento de los contenidos de materia orgánica lo que conllevó a un deterioro de la estructura y una disminución significativa de la actividad biológica lo que provoca una reducción de la capacidad productiva de los suelos. La cosecha de caña mediante la quema constituye un elemento negativo que contribuye a la degradación del medio edáfico.
