Coffee cultivation is an important economic activity in Mexico; however, phytosanitary problems continue to limit crop productivity and bean quality, particularly among smallholder producers. This study evaluated the efficacy of biological products obtained using a low-cost artisanal bioreactor for the management of the coffee berry borer (Hypothenemus hampei Ferrari) and coffee leaf rust (Hemileia vastatrix Berk. & Broome). Three 200-L containers of Beauveria bassiana (Bals.-Criv.) Vuill. and two containers of Bacillus spp., were produced and evaluated through laboratory bioassays and field trials. For the coffee berry borer, a dose-response relationship was observed, with mortality ranging from 49.6 % to 82.5 %, comparable to that obtained with a commercial product. For coffee rust, foliar applications reduced disease severity by 32.8 % compared with the untreated control. These results support the technical feasibility of local biological production as a sustainable alternative for integrated crop management.
