Abstract

Approximately 212 bioactive compounds have been reported in soursop (Annona muricata L.), however, these studies only focus on the organs of the plant such as: pulp, leaves, seeds and roots. Of the various bioactive compounds reported in soursop, the most prominent are: acetogenins, alkaloids and phenolic compounds. Two extraction methods and four solvents were evaluated to determine the method with the best extraction characteristics, as well as the determination of total alkaloids, total phenols and total flavonoids. The results obtained show a greater extraction with methanol and sonicated, on the other hand, it is detected that the content of bioactive compounds changes during the development of the product, from the inflorescence.
