  • Call for Papers for the 2026 Special Issue of Acta Agrícola y Pecuaria

    The National Network of Mexican Plums (Spondias spp.) invites researchers affiliated with national and international institutions to submit manuscripts in the form of research articles, review articles, or scientific notes for inclusion in Special Issue No. 1 (2026) of the journal Acta Agrícola y Pecuaria.

    Terms

    • Submit original manuscripts related to the following topics: Diversity, Botany and Taxonomy, Ethnobotany, Phytochemistry, Agronomic management (Propagation, Description of variants, Nutrition, Physiology, Pruning, Integrated pest and disease management, Fruit development, Harvest indices, Harvest, Postharvest physiology and technology, and industrial processing) of Mexican plum.
    • Manuscripts must conform to the format corresponding to the selected type of publication. Authors should contact the Special Issue Editor (Dr. Juan Manuel Villareal Fuentes: jmfv@unach.mx).
    • Manuscripts will undergo double-blind peer review, and the final decision will be issued by the Editor. This decision is final and not subject to appeal.
    • Authors must cover the full editorial processing fee prior to online publication.

    Manuscript Preparation and Submission

    • Manuscripts must be submitted in Word format (*.doc or .docx) through the Acta Agrícola y Pecuaria platform [aap.uaem.mx], indicating interest in participating in the review process for possible publication in the 2026 special issue.
    • Upon submission, authors must notify the special issue editor by email, indicating the manuscript title and publication type.
    • Include a cover letter with author information (email address and ORCID ID) to ensure proper integration of metadata.
    • Follow the editorial guidelines of Acta Agrícola y Pecuaria (APA 7th edition). References from non-recognized publishers will not be accepted.

  • Implementación de Cargos por Publicación de Manuscritos

    Notice of Article Processing Charge (APC) Implementation

    Effective August 1, 2025, AAP will introduce an Article Processing Charge (APC) for any manuscript accepted due to the increasing costs associated with the editorial process, including peer review management, formatting, hosting, and long-term archiving. There are no fees to submit a manuscript to the AAP journal; the APC applies only to accepted manuscripts.

    The APC will be as follows:

    • Authors affiliated with national institutions (Mexico): 5,500.00 MXN per article

    • Authors affiliated with foreign institutions: 350.0 USD per article

    Manuscripts submitted on or after this date will be subject to the new APC. However, manuscripts submitted before August 1, 2025, will continue to be processed free of charge, provided that all editorial requirements are met.

    We appreciate your understanding and support, as this change is necessary to ensure the sustainability and quality of our journal.

    Dr. Carlos Alberto Núñez Colín is a Professor-researcher of Genetic Resources, Anatomy and Management of Fruit Crops at the Universidad de Guanajuato (Mexico). He earned a Ph.D. from the Universidad Autónoma Chapingo (Mexico) in 2008 working with the Mexican hawthorn (tejocote).     Dr. Juan José Reyes Pérez is a Professor of Scientific Communication and Methods on Scientific Research at the Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (Ecuador), and is a Professor-researcher at the Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo (Ecuador), as specialist on organic soil fertilization. He earned a Ph.D. from the Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas del Noroeste (Mexico) in 2014. He has published for more than 50 scientific publications, and four book chapters. Juan José Reyes Pérez has a great experience as member in many international journals editorial board.

    We are deligthed to announce one new member to our International Editorial Board: Dr. Felipe Lidcay Herrera Isla.

    Dr. Felipe Lidcay Herrera Isla is a Professor of Sustainable Tropical Agriculture at the Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de las Villas (Cuba) and specializes on fungal fruit diseases. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Rostock (Germany) in 1977 and a Ph. D. from the Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de las Villas in 2004. He has published for more than 245 scientific publications, including over 150 refereed publications, and 7 books. Felipe Lidcay Herrera Isla is working on tomato integrated disease management, and on sustainable Cuban agriculture.

    Dr. Juan Carlos Díaz-Pérez is a Professor of  Horticulture  at the University of Georgia (United States of America) and specializes on vegetable production and physiology. He earned his Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from the University of California (Davis) in 1994. He has written for more than 330 publications, including over 65 refereed publications, and 4 book chapters. Juan Carlos Díaz-Pérez is working on plasticulture/protected agriculture technologies, effect of preharvest factors on postharvest quality, and sustainable/organic vegetable production.

    We are deligthed to announce one new member to our International Editorial Board: Dr. Daniel Frías Laserre.

    Dr. Daniel Frías Laserre is a Titular Professor of Entomology, Evolution, and Genetics in the Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación (Chile). Daniel Frías Laserre is working on Diptera (Tephiritdae) systematics and ecological topics, principally fruitflies of economic importance. He earned his Ph.D. in Biology from the Universidad de Chile in 1981 under the supervision of Dr. Joao Stenghel Morgante. He has written for more than 40 refereed publications, and 10 book chapters. He has described 12 new species of tephritid fruit flies from Chile.

    Ph.D. Andrew D. Cartmill is an Assistant Professor of Soil and Crop Science, University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Andrew D. Cartmill is doing research on a variety of sustaninable production and ecological topics. He earned his Ph.D. in Horticulture from the Texas A&M University in 2011. Ha has been author for more than 16 refereed publications, and has served as a reviewer for nine scientific journals.
